If you are interested in becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist, you will need to go back to school and continue your education. You must first earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing degree from an accredited college or university and take courses in anatomy, physiology, psychology, microbiology, nutrition, chemistry and nursing. You will need to become licensed and earn a year of experience as a registered nurse. Then, you will need to enroll in a master’s degree program for nurse anesthesia. This program will need to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. This will take you between 24 and 36 months.
